Cheek Filler at Ciao Bella in Bristol
At Ciao Bell Aesthetics in Bristol we are specialists in Cheek Filler Treatments. Did you know that cheekbones are perceived to represent more than 70% of your facial beauty? This is because they are the main structure and definition of the face. They add youth as light reflects off the high points and can make you appear aged as they hollow, absorbing light and creating a “sad” or “tired” look. Often referred to as the “sweet spot” of reversing the years of your appearance, cheek enhancement is performed to replace volume that supports the under eye area, the heaviness on the naso labial folds and every women’s nightmare, the jowels.
The importance of cheek fillers is to create a well rested look, this can also include additional volume if you require a more contoured, chissled appearance. Particularly in younger faces.
At Ciao Bella Aesthetics we have years of experience working with cheek fillers in Bristol. Feel free to read our FAQs section further down on this page to answer any questions you may have.

Frequently asked QUESTIONS cheek fillers
These are injections that use hyaluronic acid to provide structure to your cheekbones. You can use them to raise the volume or give a more angular and defined look to your cheekbones.
They help provide the face with an illusion of it having a defined bone structure. They can also help to get rid of any wrinkles or fine lines around the area.
This is a non-invasive process as dermal fillers are used to give your lower face the definition it requires. Here are a few things that this process involves:
- Sharpening the jawline
- Slimming the lower face
- Removing chin fat through the use of fillers
- Contouring both the jawline and the chin
- Stimulating the production of collagen through the use of fillers
You can either opt for one of these processes or all depending on how you want your face to look.
Using HA-based dermal fillers, we can add volume back to the face, recontour areas and enhance features. During your consultation we can discuss the differences between the product ranges offered by Restylane® and Juvéderm® and advise on the best product choices for the area being treated.
At Ciao Bella we offer the 8-point non-surgical face lift using Juvéderm® fillers, tear trough treatment to improve the under-eye area and dark circles, lip enhancement, plumping and augmentation, non-surgical nose jobs or rhinoplasty, facial contouring of the cheeks, chin and jawline, as well as skin strengthening and hydration using skin booster products.
Your suitability for dermal fillers will be determined during a free consultation with one of our registered nurses and injectable specialists where we will discuss your desires and expectations from treatment. A full medical history will also be taken to determine if there are any health concerns or medication which mean that you are not suitable for treatment. We take before and after photographs as well so that we can track the progress and outcomes of your treatment.
Pregnant and breast-feeding women are not suitable for this treatment.
If you have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid, you will also not be suitable for dermal filler treatment with the products that we use.
We use filler products from the Restylane brand, including Skin Boosters, plus the Juvéderm brand, including ULTRA and Voluma, Volift and Volbella from the Juvéderm Vycross range. All these products have a long history of use in Europe and the USA so you can be assured of their safety profile and a multitude of clinical studies to back up their effectiveness.
All our cosmetic injectable treatments are performed by our qualified team of three registered nurses, two of whom are also independent nurse prescribers who can provide the required clinical prescribing should an emergency or complication arise. At Ciao Bella, we feel that it is important to emphasise the fact that we operate from a medically-led clinic who have the skills, training and experience to provide medical aesthetic treatments such as dermal fillers.
All the products that we use also contain 3% lidocaine which is a local anaesthetic product, the same thing that you may receive when you visit the dentist for a filling. This means that as we inject the dermal fillers, the local anaesthetic is also injected so there is minimal to no pain or discomfort during treatment. For nervous or needle-phobic patients we can also top this up with a topical anaesthetic or numbing cream which is applied a short while before we start treatment.
Depending on the treatment being undertaken, we also sometimes use blunt micro-cannulas instead of needles which can offer a less painful treatment for larger areas or lips.
Improve The Overall Look Of Your Face
As we age, our face changes and all the attributes in it. You need to make sure that your face is properly proportioned and symmetrical. If your chin and jawline are not in proportion with your upper face then you may want to get sculpting done.
It will improve the entire look of your face by making it symmetrical and in line with your other features.
A sagging chin or a diminished jawline has the power to make anyone look older. This is because as we get older the skin starts losing its elasticity.
This is why dermal fillers to sculpt the lower face can improve this elasticity by stimulating collagen production and provide structural support in the areas that contribute to a younger looking lower face.
Feel Good About Yourself
The way we look affects our self-esteem and confidence. Boost it by making sure you look the best at any age. Sculpt your lower face and look the best so you can feel the best as well.
After all, when we feel good about ourselves we feel that we can conquer the world. The kind of positive attitude we all need.
You don’t need to prepare much for the procedure as it only takes ten minutes. Your nurse will discuss with you the procedure along with what to expect and how the treatment will be performed. On occasions we may need to add additional syringes however this can be discussed at your appointment.
Other than that there is no prep that you need to do. One of our specialised experts will update you on your procedure during the consultation.
There is no recovery time after the procedure as you can even go to work the same day after your appointment. There might be some mild swelling but that will go away in a few days and it won’t be noticeable enough to other people.
One thing you need to avoid the first few days is to sleep on your cheeks. Sleep on your back with your face upwards. You should also not touch your face a lot and keep it clean and dry as much as you can for the first few days.
Hyaluronic acid is eventually metabolised naturally by your body so you will require repeat treatments to maintain the results achieved. Depending on the area treated and the type of product used, dermal fillers can last between 3 and 12 months before a repeat is recommended. Most treatments require maintenance every 6 months to make sure that the correction is optimal.
All dermal fillers are temporary. This is because they dissolve in your skin tissue with time. However, any cheek filler will last you from eight months to two years. This entirely depends on the individual.
If you are wondering why you need cheek fillers then here are a few reasons many people opt for this procedure:
· Loss of volume in cheeks
· Making the face more symmetrical
· Add youthful contours
· To get rid of wrinkles and fine lines
· Add dimension and structure to the face
Consultations are available to discuss dermal filler treatment with one of our registered nurses. If you are interested in this treatment and want to know more, please book an appointment.
